First Grade Prize Chart

The Funny-Faced Egg

Asalamu Aliekum Parents,

The chart below is a prize chart. For every three stickers each student collects, he/she will get a funny faced egg like the ones shown. To get a sticker they need to:

– Listen when a lesson is in session

– Raise their hand to speak

– Stay in their seat during the lesson

Please talk to your kids about this and encourage them to follow the rules. This will help us move along with our lessons, and benefit them with their Qur’an recitation.

Fifth Grader’s Free Class

Asalamu Aliekum Parents,

The fifth graders finished their Rewards Punch Cards individually, and decided they wanted a free class together. We spent some time in the musallah, and more time outdoors enjoying the fresh air.

Here are some pictures of the fun time they had together:

Second Grade’s Creativity

Asalamu Aliekum Parents,

So following my last post on our Free Friday talk about Jannah, some of the kids today remembered and wrote what they want in Jannah. Here are pictures of their work:

Here's what he wrote: "I want to see Allah (swt) and Muhammad (s) and a palace and drink Al-Kawthar from Muhammads hand and a house made out of diamonds and jewelries, gold, metal and steel."

Such beautiful and imaginative descriptions! It’s always nice to remember the beauty of Jannah and always remind our kids to make duaa to not only enter it, but to attain the highest of places, Ferdaws! May we all be from the people of Ferdaws! Ameen :-)

Some of the other students got creative in drawing other things:

Grade 2 Update #2

Asalamu Aliekum Parents,

Today was the last day of school before Spring Break, so I decided to have a talk with the kids about Qur’an. Some of the things we discussed were:

  • Why we memorize Qur’an
  • How we use Qur’an in our life
  • The hasanat (merits) we get with each letter we read from the Qur’an
  • Then we discussed Jannah (heaven) and the things we want to do there.
  • How no matter how long we live in this world, it’s a small portion compared to forever in Jannah. Which is why we need to take care of doing good things in this world, even if it’s hard sometimes.
  • If we do bad deeds, we need to repent and say “Astagfirullah” and promise to not do them again.

It was a beautiful and relaxed discussion alhamdulelah. They colored and drew pictures in class as we talked, and we decided that next time we have a Free Friday inshaAllah, we want to draw something we want in Jannah ( I told them I wanted a chocolate waterfall :-) ).

Alhamdulelah it was a nice way to say Salam, with Spring Break arriving. InshaAllah you get to ask your child more about today’s discussion and hear them talk about Qur’an and Jannah.

I hope you all enjoy your time off, and I pray you have a blessed time together!

With peace and smiles,

Dana

P.S: Some of the kids gave me their drawings, thought I’d share them here :-)
